Developing a core competency in 3D optical metrology has enabled GEA to innovate its bench-marking, reverse engineering, part validation, and root cause analysis.

A “change agent” for developing new technologies and processes, Omar EL-Abed is the Metrology Leader at GE Appliances, a company that values teamwork, innovation, reliability, speed and, above all, a passion to help people. He is applying new technologies, methodologies, and approaches to pursue better ways to conduct business across a global supply chain. He is pioneering the application of Optical 3D Metrology for part and process validation as well as innovating the application of Model-Based Definition (MBD) for inspection using PMI data. GEA is leveraging its core competency in Dimensional Management and Optical 3D metrology to redefine its product development process.
